PM - Head to Big bay to watch the most thrilling and exciting kitesurfing competition in the world, The Red bull king of the air! Be inspired as you watch the best kitesurfers in the world pull off masterful death provoking mega loops and massive jumps across Big bay. This would also be an opportunity to pump up your gear and kitesurf next to the competition area in Big Bay.
AM - Head out to Langebaan lagoon for an all day kite session. Langebaan is world renowned for its flat warm water lagoon with no sharks, no waves and beautiful turquoise water lapping the white sandy shore line. This is a perfect spot for beginners or for advanced freestyle riders looking to land their next big move.
PM - Your complimentary dinner at Mama Africa. From Amos, the host who greets you to the gregarious servers and energetic band members, you’ll get that welcome feeling. Live music – marimba, jazz, African soul, drumming - is featured on most nights. The music is so infectious it’s hard to resist the urge to get up and dance. Try a starter platter with Kudu Biltong or dried, cured and smoked shaved meats; Game Kebab or crocodile; Homemade Veggie Samosas or pastries similar to a spring roll; Homemade raisin bread and chicken curry. You totally must sample the vetkoek and sweet corn bread!
AM - Drive to Boulders Beach, a sheltered beach made up of inlets between granite boulders, from which the name originated. Here you will have a chance to hang out with the funny little penguins who live in the area. Relax and soak in the African sun while mother nature spoils you and even try a little snorkeling. After that we will head to Kalk bay a fishing village on the coast of False Bay for lunch. Some will say that the fish and chips from the local harbor is the order of the day.
PM - After lunch we'll head over to Muizenberg beach where you'll have the chance to kitesurf the wilder side of the Western Cape's coastline. Enjoy straight onshore south easterly wind, small to medium size rolling waves and a white sandy beach that runs for miles on one side and the spectacular views of mountains on the other side. Kite up and down the shoreline in shallow waters with glassy flats between the waves. This is a truly amazing spot when the conditions all align.
AM - Wake up fairly early in the morning to have breakfast and head to Witsands for some extreme epic kitesurfing. This spot is for the more advanced riders when the conditions get gnarly, and boy do they! Expect a strong south easterly wind blowing down the Atlantic shoreline near the Cape Point region with huge swell and powerful waves that will crush your kite if you drop it and are unable to re-launch in time. The best advice here is... DON'T DROP YOUR KITE! Bring your nerves of steel and your best flying skills because this spot will test you. Once you have kited Witsand you'll tell friends about your experience for years to come and you will be back.
PM - After an epic session at Witsands, we'll head over to the little town of Scarborough and then back down the coastline though a small town called Kommetjie and over to the Red Hearing where we'll enjoy locally made wood fire pizza's, imported German beer and a sunset view of Long beach.Bigger and better, the Sunset Deck is almost a Cape Town heritage site! Big floppy sun hats, sparkling sea, purple, red and orange sunsets, colorful cocktails, craft beers, pizzas to die for or canapes to nibble on. This is a summer must-do.
AM - We may have a day with no wind which will be the perfect opportunity to see one of mother nature's natural wonders. Cape Point encompasses 7750 hectares of rich and varied flora and fauna, abounding with buck, baboons, and Cape Mountain Zebra as well as over 250 species of birds. With this much beauty around you it's easy to lose track of time.
